Welcome to the wonderful world of Tanker folks. This site is dedicated to the flight crews and maintenance people who were the first to provide air refueling for fighter aircraft of the Tactical Air Command back in the cold war years 1955 through 1964. The realization that there was a need to get fighter units to the world hot spots quickly as a show of force became real during this period and the airborn tanker was the answer. Whole squadrons of century series fighters could rapidly launch from their bases in the USA, join up with a flight of tankers over the oceans, transfer fuel, and land within hours of departure in Asia, Europe, or the middle east, ready to put down any insurrection anywhere in the world.

We honor those who flew the long missions, maintained the aircraft, spent the long tours away from home helping to keep the peace. Most of these guys are now in their seventies, or older, but still have stories to tell and the lies to back them up with vigor to keep the flame alive. GEAR UP.
Once we get things going on this new Web site the opening Home page will carry the latest Southern Chapter activity with updates posted regularly to keep y'all up to date. Stay with me for a few weeks until I can get my legs under me. This ain't easy for an old curmudgeon learning a new program, new code, while keeping my cool.-
